The most common questions about referrals, booking, clothing, and what to bring.
Most people can book physiotherapy directly. Some benefit plans or third-party claims may require a referral or specific claim information, so check your plan requirements before your visit.
Your first appointment begins with a conversation about what brought you in, what you’re experiencing, and what you’d like to get back to doing. Your practitioner will then complete an appropriate assessment, discuss their findings and recommended next steps, and may begin treatment during your first visit when appropriate.
Your first visit generally follows three steps: Conversation + Assessment + Treatment, depending on your individual needs.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move and gives your clinician access to the area being assessed. Shorts, a T-shirt, or a tank top can be helpful depending on the concern.
Bring any insurance information, referral required by your plan, relevant reports or imaging, and details for a motor vehicle or workplace claim when applicable.
Use Evolution’s online booking portal to choose Edmonton or Spruce Grove and see current availability. If you need help choosing a service, send a general inquiry through the Contact page.
Answers about appointment timing, insurance, progress, comfort, and choosing a service.
Appointment length varies by service and visit type. The booking portal will show the available appointment options, and the clinic can confirm the expected length for your visit.
Coverage depends on your individual plan. Contact your benefit provider to confirm eligibility, referral requirements, visit limits, and direct-billing rules before your appointment.
Your clinician may track changes in symptoms, movement, strength, function, and the goals that matter to you. Your plan can be adjusted as your needs and progress change.
Assessment and treatment can sometimes cause temporary discomfort or soreness. Tell your clinician how you feel throughout the visit so the approach can be adjusted appropriately.
